Othercide is a turn-based tactical with roguelite elements, in which you must manage and sometime sacrify your fighters
to defeat your enemies.

Made the design of the game's flow & bosses.

Was owner of level & mission design: writing down guidelines, establishing design tools, implementing & iterating.

Did retake some core systems of the game linked to progression, roguelite mechanics & basic fight rules.

Contributed to the establishment of new high-level vision & metrics of the project 6 months before the release, leading to a 78 Metacritic score.

Key learnings

Making good process & tools is always worth it, no matter how late in the production you are. You'll be working better & faster, making you gain time even on short-term.

The whole team must anticipate potential design iterations in their work, and designers must communicate about objectives & planning of those iterations.

The importance of Systems simulator for testing & balancing purpose, combined with good data analytics to precise it over time.
